Sunday Fun-Day!

We've got some warm, but not TOO warm (70's) and sunny weather this weekend in Kaiserslautern!  Here's some local events for you and your kids to enjoy!

Family Day at Saarbrucken Zoo

The Zoo is having a great deal for families on Sunday, September 9th! The Zoo invites families to enjoy the day with a reduced entrance fee of 5 euros!  There will be a raffle at the penguin exhibit with some great prices, delicious items on the grill in front of the ape house, and other fun promotions and events for the whole family.  Graf-Stauffenberg-Straße, 66121 Saarbrücken. Sunday, September 9 at 10 AM – 6 PM


Family day of the young Lebenshilfe Westpfalz

Classic games such as hulahoop, canned or sack races and historic carousels invite you on a nostalgic journey back in time, while marionette theater and storytellers leave time quiet. Either way, there is a lot to discover and experience!  Sunday, September 9 at 12 PM – 6 PM.  Lauterstraße 51, 67659 Kaiserslautern


Wald und Wiesenmarkt

There will be a forest and meadow market this Sunday, Sept 9th from 1100-1800.  There will be market stalls on the orchard, surrounded by forest, creating a unique experience.  You will find products such as jam, honey, juices, wild products, goat cheese, soaps, pottery, wood oven bread and more handmade products.  There will be lots of fun, especially for the children, with some interesting forest decoration, certified forest and nature educators giving guided tours, a falconer with his feathered friends, and a super fun historic, hand operated boat swing.  Where: On the orchard at KL-Erzhütten. Signposted from Erzhütter Straße between KL-Erzhütten and KL-Erfenbach. Parking is available. We are also reachable by bus 107 to the bus stop "Erfenbacher Weg". 10 minutes walk from there.


Farmer's Market

Although a small village of only 500 people, Berlangnbach has an annual market which attracts a large group of visitors each year with it's local and handmade product offerings.   A large variety of goods is offered ranging from food and drinks to decoration items and souvenirs. Visitors can purchase jewelry and beautiful handcraft designs, as well as cheese, bread, meat, liqueur and jelly – all items are guaranteed handmade. Try delicious specialties and buy fruits and vegetables grown in the local area! There is a lot to discover for children, e.g. live animals like birds and sheep etc. as well as a clown entertainment program. Market hours are from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. Open doors and friendly people welcome you. Free admission and parking! More information at  Hauptstrasse Berlangenbach, 55776
