Sickingen May Market in Landstuhl

The Sickingen-Maimarkt in Landstuhl will be held during the first weekend in May from Friday, May 4th through Monday, May 7th.  Around the city hall there will be carnival rides, a range of delicious foods and beverages, candy booths, and a flea market.   Monday will be family day, and is designed to offer families the chance to have fun and relax.  During this day, there will be special offers and fares.  The annual Balloon Contest organized by Heimatfreunde Landstuhl e. V. will start on Saturday, May 5 at 11.00 in the schoolyard of the elementary school "In der Au" in Landstuhl.  On the last day, Monday the 7th, there will be fireworks at Nanstein Castle at 2200.  The market is open Friday from 1600 and Sat, Sun, and Monday from 1200-2300.   Lothar-Sander-Platz und Neuer Markt Landstuhl

Mittelaltermarkt at Gartenschau

Gartenschau will transform the grounds into the middle ages this weekend.  You will be greeted with jugglers, dancers, and other lively folk in medieval costume.  There will be historical stalls in the camps where you can purchase jewelery, leather goods, clothing, soaps and more.  You can also watch as weavers and blacksmiths demonstrate their craft.  If you like chickens, there will be a chicken show where the breeding club shows off their finest poultry.  There will be food options, some of the medieval variety, and beverages to keep everyone happy.  Specifically for the kids will be a knight show, archery, painting with clay colors, and an opportunity to build your own bow.  So much fun for the kids!  After you enjoy the medieval market, enjoy your time in beautiful Gartenschau.  Note: If you have a seasons pass, there is no extra entry fee for this event.  This medieval market will run May 5th and May 6th, from  1000-1800.  Lauterstraße 51, 67659 Kaiserlautern

Other May Markets & Festivals

Kerwe in Grethen Bad Durkheim: May 4th to May 8th.   There will be a Kerwe with food, beverages and entertainment for the family.  It will be setup in the schoolyard of Grethen-Hausen in Bad Durkheim.

Maimarkt mit Weindorf: There will be a May market with wine village in Landau from April 28th through May 7th.  The festival will be held in the city center, Alter Messplatz.  Carnival rides will run from 1300-2300 daily.  On Monday, May 7th, there will be a fireworks display at 2200.  The city recommends parking at Parkhaus Stadtmitte, Waffenstraße 14, 76829 Landau or Parking Garage Center, Am Großmarkt 2, 76829 Landau.  www.gastlandschaften.de

Frühlings shopping in St. Wendel: Friday, May 4th from 0900-1800.  This day St. Wendeler retailers say thank you with a colorful spring bouquet for their loyalty.  In the participating shops in the city center, customers will receive a voucher for each purchase of 25 Euros to be redeemed for 5 fresh cut flowers.  These flowers can be received at the spring stand on the Schlossplatz.  The more coupons you have, the larger bouquet you will receive.  

Mill Market: Head over to Kneispermühle in Wallhalben Sunday, May 6th from 1100 for a mill market. Cruising by Foot

The Ramstein Roadrunners are holding their annual volksmarch.  There are a few different routes for everyone from a short walk for kids to a half marathon length.  The start is at  0700 on Saturday and Sunday at the Mehrzweckhalle in Miesenbach.  Pre-registration is not required for individuals, but recommended for groups. For more information go to www.ramstein-roadrunners.com or email ramsteinroadrunners@yahoo.com.
